Rama Bijapurkar is a well respected expert on India’s Consumer Economy and on business-market strategy.
Rama has her own market strategy consulting practice, serves on or has served on the boards of several of India’s blue chip companies, and is a visiting faculty and member board of governors of IIM Ahmedabad, her alma mater.
She is author of a book that is regarded as the Bible on Consumer India – titled “We are like that only: Understanding the Logic of Consumer India” and a dominant voice in the Indian media, on business and social issues.
Her work experience includes leadership positions with MARG and MODE (market research agencies which have now become Nielsen and TNS respectively), full time consulting with Hindustan Lever in competitive strategy and new business entry strategy and working with McKinsey & Co. prior to setting up her own practice.
