Harish Mehta is the Chairman and Managing Director of Onward Technologies Ltd (OTL).
Under his leadership, OTL has emerged as a global company, specializing in software driven consulting, services and solutions in mechanical engineering design, banking software solutions, and open source based-identity management solutions. OTL today operates through 15 offices in India and subsidiaries in USA and Germany, and branch offices in UK, Japan and Singapore.
He was also the co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Hinditron's Computer Group and one of the chief architects for realizing Hinditron-Digital Joint Venture in India.
Harish is also co-promoter of Infinity Venture Fund, an institutionalized Angel Fund aimed at promoting IT entrepreneurs.
He is a Member of the Advisory Board for Novell in India.
Intimately connected with the growth of the IT industry in India, Harish has devoted a significant amount of time working with various organizations to sort out industry level issues, and promote entrepreneurship position India as a lowest cost innovation hub.
He has been the founder member of NASSCOM (National Association of Software & Service Companies) and former President/Chairman and member of the Executive Council.
He was the first President of TiE-Mumbai Chapter. TiE is a non-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals, established to foster entrepreneurship and nurture entrepreneurs. He was a trustee of TiE Global (2001-2004) and a member of the Advisory Council India for American India Foundation.
He has successfully chaired major Indian and International conferences like Cybercity, NASSCOM, VLDB'96, ICVC'99 and others. He is also Managing Trustee of Trust to Promote Advanced Technologies in India (TPATI).
In 1998, Computer Society of India conferred its fellowship to Harish Mehta on the occasion of 33rd Annual Convention of CSI for his services to CSI.
Harish completed his masters degree in Computer Science from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, USA in 1970 and degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering, Pune, India in 1969.
