The research division at NASSCOM Foundation seeks to identify, explore and understand global and national trends in corporate social responsibility and the use of information and communication technologies for development. The findings, in turn, inform our programs, advocacy and advisory division and help us engage with the IT-BPO industry and non-profit sector in a more meaningful manner. The Research Portfolio currently houses two different research programmes, aimed at different target groups: Corporate social responsibility (CSR):CSR over the last few decades has rapidly evolved from being viewed as a philanthropic act to a strategic aspect of a company's existence. With no commonly accepted term available for CSR, company's struggle to find meaning and deploy programs. This is where NASSCOM Foundation hopes to play and role and chart out a path for member companies making them globally competitive and recognised. IT for development:Information and communication technologies are new age tools that can diminish distances and eradicate isolation, speed up developmental processes and enhance the overall quality of life. NASSCOM Foundation attempts to study how the use of ICT has helped organizations with their outreach programs on education, health and livelihoods. |
