NASSCOM Foundation
The social development arm of NASSCOM, the internationally recognized trade body of the Indian IT-BPO industry was established to transform the lives of the underserved through the application of Information and Communication Technology. NASSCOM Foundation aims to channelize the potential of the IT-BPO industry towards inclusive development of India by actively facilitating through Advocacy, Advisory, Research and Programs. ICT for a better worldOver the last two decades, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has significantly impacted economic prosperity in the country. It has also been contributing towards social change. ICT facilitates knowledge sharing and helps generate employment, disperse skills and knowledge, and empower the common man. It also helps in expanding and enlarging the reach of social programs to all corners of the country at a much reduced cost. CSR Consulting, Advisory and ResearchNASSCOM Foundation encourages NASSCOM members to plan their CSR initiatives, presenting best practices, and promoting and assisting their implementation. NASSCOM Foundation’s I-Get Involved program is a complete CSR policy kit encapsulating various modules including CSR Consulting, Advisory and Research. NASSCOM Foundation creates several opportunities for members to connect on CSR and with thought leaders in the CSR space. NASSCOM Foundation encourages its partners to engage in capacity building initiatives by transferring technical and other skills to the under-privileged to enable long-term development. NASSCOM Foundation’s programmes also involve an integrated ICT learning framework with wide outreach, hardware and software donation programmes, employee volunteer initiatives through MyKartavya.com to make the most of the industry's resources. Technology Access ProgrammesThere is a huge digital divide in the country, between people who have access to technology and those who don’t. NASSCOM Foundation’s programmes are an initiative to make technology accessible at a low cost to non-profits and under-served communities and provide them with technical tools and skills to overcome the barriers that hamper their progress. NASSCOM Foundation’s member partners provide technology at low-cost through software and hardware donations and also support several skill building initiatives. At NASSCOM Foundation, we believe that ICT helps underserved communities access information, services and opportunities that collectively build their capacities to realize their potential. NASSCOM Foundation brings together implementing agencies, industry, government bodies and people at the grassroots for integrated development through the use of ICT.
