NASSCOM KNOWLEDGE NETWORK (NKN)

NKN is a network of telecentres that provide access to knowledge and information in education, livelihood, health, to improve the capacities for employment and entrepreneurship of underserved communities in rural and urban areas. The centres are variously called as knowledge centres, learning centres, resource centres and information and service centres.

Five years since its initiation, the NKN program has had a humungous positive impact in the lives of people both in the urban as well as the rural areas. The program has transformed the lives of many for the better.

  • More than 250 NKN centres (employing 250 centre-coordinators) have been established in 80 districts across 13 states of the country having an impact in the lives of over 3,50,000 community members.

  • Direct employment created for over 300 community members.

  • Over 65,000 people trained and sensitized

  • More than 25,000 people trained in IT skills alone. 

  • 15,700 children supported on computer aided school support curriculum.

  • 14, 200 adults have been sensitised on computer-based adult literacy program

  • 5,500 community members trained in various livelihood skills. 

  • 4,500 community members sensitised in health awareness.
