NKN is a network of telecentres that provide access to knowledge and information in education, livelihood, health, to improve the capacities for employment and entrepreneurship of underserved communities in rural and urban areas. The centres are variously called as knowledge centres, learning centres, resource centres and information and service centres.

A typical centre would have different content/ and services. The content services have been developed in partnership with various organisations. A lot of the content is developed by NASSCOM members companies and shared with NASSCOM Foundation for use in the telecentres. Several enterprising NGOs and entrepreneurs have developed content and taken up services that are relevant and demanded by the local communities
