NASSCOM Knowledge Network  is a network of telecentres that provide access to knowledge and information in education, livelihood, health, to improve the capacities for employment and entrepreneurship of underserved communities in rural and urban areas. The centres are variously called as knowledge centres, learning centres, resource centres and information and service centres.

Opportunities for all, beyond barriers of caste, community, gender and society has been the mantra of NASSCOM Foundation. To make every member of the community an equal participant in its country’s progress has been NASSCOM Foundation's vision since its inception in 2005. A key objective of setting up telecentres and providing community access to technology/ICTs has also been to bridge the digital divide in technology use, leading to digital inclusion, and create a cadre of youth leaders who can not only lead in imparting news skills but also be the harbinger of change for their communities.

NKN is development initiative designed to engage industry, civil societies and communities in synergistic partnership to create an enabling environment to build life skills to enhance the livelihood and employment opportunities of the grassroots communities. Building on the strengths of the Indian Information Technology and BPO industry, NASSCOM Foundation supports non-governmental organizations and NGO (Non Governmental Organizations) and NPO ( Not-for-Profit Organisations) in India to set up and run telecentre/knowledge centres/learning centres by empowering them with the requisite information and communication tools, and services.

The NKN program is a step towards collating the efforts of the Industry in one hand, by using the socially relevant products, services and processes developed by the Industry, and the civil society, on the other, engaged in innovative program to improve the lives of the underserved. The vast network of NKN centres enables under-served communities to access services and skills that can help them make informed choices and improve their overall wellbeing.
