Bangalore, 15th April, 2011 – Thomson Reuters today signed an agreement with NASSCOM Foundation for its Big Bridge Program, to give away used computers to NASSCOM Foundation which in turn will be refurbished and donated to NGOs and government schools.
The Big Bridge Program enables education, employability and entrepreneurship through computer donations. The aim of the program is to increase the life of still-useful computers through refurbishing and responsibly disposing those machines that have reached their end of life. This serves the dual purpose of bridging the digital divide as well as ensuring responsible e-waste disposal. Linsey Simpson, Managing Director Thomson Reuters India added “Education and Environment being the key focus areas of Thomson Reuters’ Corporate Responsibility strategy, it was only natural to team up with NASSCOM Foundation to support their Big Bridge Program. This program truly plays a great role of bringing IT to the grassroot levels and at the same time providing a complete IT disposal facility to organizations. We are delighted to be partnering with NASSCOM Foundation in supporting this noble cause.” About Thomson Reuters
