Sagarika Bose, Vice President- Research, NASSCOM Foundation
said, "Kids and plant saplings are so much alike; when you are with them age, designations and status cease to matter. Both need tender loving care and everyone just gets down to their level and joins in the fun. This was the case with the CEOs, CIOs and location heads from participating companies who came to the WED2010 celebrations organized by NASSCOM Foundation. Adults and children alike had an innocent and yet gleeful expression on their faces while their hands were stuck in mud."

As responsible citizens of the country the CEOs have taken it upon themselves to set an example for all employees by taking the first step in ensuring a greener environment and a brighter future.

This initiative is part of NF's My Kartavya, a volunteer management portal for NASSCOM member companies. It is a platform to bridge the gap between companies and NGO'sand make volunteering opportunities easily accessible. To foster the spirit of volunteering amongst industry employees, NASSCOM Foundation organizes such events that give corporate employees an opportunity to relate to different issues and choose a cause to identify with.

Additionally, NASSCOM Foundation also helps IT-BPO companies manage e-waste through a program called Big Bridge. Through this program, old computers from IT organizations are re-furbished, reloaded with content and channelized to NGOs registered with NASSCOM Foundation.

On the occasion of World Environment Day, NASSCOM Foundation also organized a cleanup drive of Ghatkopar Station in Mumbai along with employee volunteers from InfrasoftTech, Pangea3, Tata Consultancy Services, Tricom Information and Technology, WNS Global Services and Zenith Computers.
