The Foundation pioneered the Honours in 2008 to recognize and showcase innovations that aim to impact society in a positive manner by utilizing information and communications technologies (ICT).

NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours

The Honours identify social innovations across public, private and NGO sectors and recognize innovations in the form of a principle, an idea, an intervention or a combination of all of the above. NASSCOM Foundation is uniquely positioned to host these honors as promoters of using technology for good to enable and influence inclusive growth in India. And demonstrating these innovations across stakeholders brings to light that we can all bring about social change!

"We are delighted to be associated with an award that honours the exemplary work done by entrepreneurs in improving the social landscape of the nation. At Genpact, we recognize the power of combining process innovation and information technology to deliver scale. "India has a tremendous number of problems ranging from illiteracy to female foeticide to lack of electrification to absent school teachers. To solve these endemic issues, we require innovation and active participation across India. And to reach the necessary scale - 41.6% of Indians below the international poverty line, 1.08 million missing girls, 1,00,000 unelectrified villages - we require innovative uses of ICT. The Genpactsponsored NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours not only recognize these ideas but bring them to a platform where the who's who of the IT-BPM industry gather in search of partners and ideas. We aim to give voice to social enterprises and bring about mass social change." - Rita Soni, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation
