Deesha is the community centre of Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK) and supports children from lesser privileged / economically weaker section of the society through their regular Family Health Clinics, Nutrition Programmes, Health Camps and awareness through Family Life Education. The BSSK programmes include – a Child Care Centre, Foster Family Care, Adoption and Community Centre which supports children for Educational Sponsorship activities.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in TCS operates on two distinct tiers: involvement with communities directly related to the Company's line of business and use of the Company's core competence to address societal problems. CSR is also seen in the Company's concern for preservation of the environment. The Company aligns itself with the Tata Council of Community Initiatives, which is the apex body co-ordinating social initiatives across all Tata companies. "Maitree" an association of employees and their families across the globe, is an important vehicle of CSR.

Pankhudi Pune is primarily involved with education related activities, under the name of Protsahan, for the children of Patil Estate. For Protsahan their basic motivation is to put different options for their future, in front of them and enable them to choose the better ones. TCS guides them to broaden their views and make children grow up into empowered citizens who can support themselves and their families through a lifestyle devoid of any compromises with the basic needs.

The Steria Foundation has chosen to act in three main areas :
- education and training
- the development of initiatives that bring IT and communication tools to everyone, particularly handicapped persons

Kalyani Vidyalaya
At Kalyani Vidyalaya, children from the neighbourhood come and attend the day school. Children are made to do exercises, play with others, eat lunch on time and a daily routine is developed for them. When these children join the school, their entire medical check ups along with their family details are noted and progress in them is monitored and documented on a half-yearly basis. Kamayani School, a school for slow learners is now admitting children directly from Kalyani School after a tenure of 5-6 years.
Since early 2008, Steria in partnership with Prism Foundation, is working with the teachers of Kalyani Vidyalaya to ensure individual attention is given to each child. The aim here is to understand the needs and capabilities of each child and help them to look after themselves.

KPIT Cummins
KPIT Cummin’s CSR principles are founded on the tenets of ethics, values and transparency.The company has started a unique initiative of setting up the IT infrastructure of non profit organizations. KPIT Cummins awards scholarships to deserving female students of Bhagini Nivedita Pratishthan for computer related training. Besides, the company has also donated computers and software to many schools and NGOs in both rural and urban Pune.

Surajya Sarvangin Vikas Prakalpa
Surajya Sarvangin Vikas Prakalpa,supported by KPIT,was established on 1st may 2001, aiming to empower women and children from slum areas of Pune. Currently working closely in 11 slums in Yerawada. Presently there are more than 10 study and 600 children beneficiaries under Surajya Prakalpa. There are more than 150 women’s self help group in the area.

Akanksha Foundation
The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization with the vision to equip all students with the education, skills and character they need to lead empowered lives. Akanksha works primarily in the field of education, addressing non formal education through the Akanksha centre and also formal education through the Akanksha Schools.
Over the past 20 years, the organization has expanded from 15 children in one centre to over 3500 children in 58 centers and 6 schools. A commitment is made to support each child by giving him or her strong educational foundation, a good time, self esteem and values, and to help them plan how they can earn a steady livelihood as a step towards improving their standard of living.

Annapurna
Annapurna is a residential school for destitute children under the age of 15. It is located in the lush green heart of Phursungi Village with little infrastructure and facilities. The school not only teaches around 250 students from class 1 to 10 but also houses them within the 14 rooms and looks after their needs. The staff comprises of a handful of dedicated faculty and helpers who live in-house to care for the children.

Akshar Bharati
Akshar Bharati is an initiative by young IT professionals to nurture the reading habits in children between age group of 5-15 years from underprivileged and remote areas by facilitating access to good non-academic literature. They set up fully equipped libraries (of 1000 books each) for such children in their localities. Akshar Bharati has setup more than 225 such libraries in various states of India & has 1000s volunteers across various IT & non-IT companies. This is their way of contributing to the India’s Vision 2020 of being a developed and self sufficient nation.
The organization is working in the field of Education of children of commercial sex workers & alcoholics.
